FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas coach Bret Bielema says injured starting quarterback Brandon Allen has “a chance” to play when the Razorbacks face Missouri on Friday.
Allen missed the second half of Arkansas’ 30-0 win over Mississippi last week after being hit on his right hip. The junior has completed 165 of 286 passes (57.7 percent) with 16 touchdowns and five interceptions this season for the Razorbacks (6-5, 2-5 Southeastern Conference).
Bielema says Allen is unlikely to practice the next few days, though he said the quarterback could play against the No. 17 Tigers (9-2, 6-1) with “a minimal amount of practice time.”
Backup quarterback Austin Allen, who is 8-of-16 passing for 153 yards this season, finished the win over the Rebels and will start if his older brother is unable to play.
